STUDENT WELLBEING
Our school's student wellbeing and anti-bullying framework is built around developing a caring and supportive teaching and learning community. Our school utilises two specific programs to help have a common language and build social-emotional learning, positive relationships and student wellbeing.
Program One: You Can Do It!
Focuses on 5 key elements that help unlock students potential.
See parent guides here:
https://www.youcandoiteducation.com.au/parents-2/
Program Two: URStrong
Focuses on empowering kids with friendship skills.
To help build and share the 'language of friendship' that your children use, please take this opportunity to register for tonight's free online URSTRONG classroom.
It is a great parenting workshop with practical skills you can use to support your child learning social, emotional skills and create positive friendships.
ZONE SWIMMING
Congratulations to all our swimmers and teachers who braved the weather yesterday and attend the North Shore Zone carnival.
The students did get a little wet during the day, but expected when participating in a swimming carnival.
2023 SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL TEST - POSTPONED
Please be advised the Selective High School Placement Test scheduled for Thursday 10 March 2022 has been delayed.
With a large number of students affected by the flooding across NSW, the Department are rescheduling the test date to ensure no students are disadvantaged.
The test has been rescheduled to Thursday 31 March 2022. We understand on this date, children are meant to be on the Canberra excursion.
We have been in communication with the company used to book camp and are working with them to see is possible to reschedule. Children have been told today of the change and are aware camp will only go ahead if we can organise a new date. We will let you know of updates as soon as we can.
PARENTS ON SITE
It is great to have parents and carers coming onto school grounds to collect children in the afternoon even though it has been a 'little' wet some days.
Reminders:
- Toilets on site are for students. For the safety of all, parents are not permitted to enter the toilet blocks.
- Outdoor areas are at times used as learning spaces in the afternoon, therefore please do not come onsite before 2:50pm.
Thank you for your understanding.
HARMONY DAY 21ST MARCH 2022
Our school celebrates cultural diversity with over 85% of our student population come from non-english speaking backgrounds.
This year, Harmony Week is being celebrated from the 21st – 27th March. Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
As a school we will be acknowledging Harmony Week by wearing a touch of orange or students can wear their cultural dress on Monday 21st March.
Why orange? Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
Students will be participating in activities during the week in classrooms that help spread the important message that everyone belongs.

In 2022 the NSW Government will continue to contribute a $100 Creative Kids rebate for NSW residents. The Artarmon P&C is currently registered as a Creative Kids provider for the band and strings programs.
If you will be taking advantage of this, your first step is to:
Step 1. Apply for a voucher for your child on the Service NSW website: go to https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-creative-kids-voucher.
Step 2. Please log into the Parent Portal and provide details by completing the form online.
If you wish to use the Creative Kids Voucher you must pay $100 less than your invoice total. We will then credit the $100 against your invoice when we have redeemed the voucher from Service NSW. This only applies to school ensemble fees and not tuition fees.
