CELEBRATING SUCCESS
Another treat this week to have special visitors pop down to my temporary office to share their success in the classroom and achievement towards their learning goals. Fantastic writing coming from our Year 1 students.
ACADEMIC REPORTS
On Friday, semester one academic reports will be sent home via email to all families. These reports have been put together by teachers to share with you progress your child has achieved and is working towards based off the NSW curriculum and syllabus documents. Please take your time to read the individual report and ensure you have booked your parent / teacher interview on Monday or Tuesday next week so your child's teacher can elaborate with you in person about the content of the academic report. Parent teacher interviews will be held in person, in the library. Please arrive five minutes prior to your scheduled time and wait outside the library near the Barton Rd stairs. Every 10 minutes a bell will ring and you will be invited in for your scheduled interview time. If you requested the teacher to call you via the phone, please remember this will show up on your phone as un unlisted number.
If you have had any difficulty booking a time to meet your child's teacher, please contact the office by phone and they will assist you.
MORNING SUPERVISION
Supervision of students at school in the morning is from 8:25am. As a parent, please ensure you are looking after the safety and wellbeing of your child by keeping them safe and only dropping them at school, or allowing them to make their way to school in the morning to arrive when supervision is provided. There have been a number of incidents where students are found in the playground before 8:25am unsupervised. This creates significant risk for student safety.
SCHOOL FEES TERM THREE
We are currently finalising school fees for Term 3 to be sent home next week. These fees will be sent to families via email and include any unpaid fees from the previous terms. Fees charged, cover educational excursions / incursions to support grade teaching and learning programs and extra curricular sport activities.
The voluntary contribution is added automatically to all students fees. This money is used each year to fund an extra classroom teacher and quality learning resources across our school. The community support with this contribution is greatly appreciated and makes a significant difference to learning programs and students of Artarmon Public School.
If you are having any difficulty paying your child's fees, please email or phone the school directly and we will contact you to work through ways the school can support your and your family.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
It was wonderful to see all the children over the last few days with brushed hair, clean ears and a bright smile for their class and individual photo. If you forgot to order, don't panic, you will be able to order from the photographer after the day. A huge thanks must go to Mrs Singh for her organisation, communication and execution of all photos over the three days.
BUILDING UPDATE
As you may have seen, the construction work on the admin building has begun and areas fenced off. There will be a small change to the 'Kiss and Drop' zone on McMillan Rd in the coming days until the end of the project. The council are approving a small 6m designated construction zone at the top of the Kiss and Drop area on McMillan Rd. This will be fenced off, and when in use, supervised by a traffic safety officer. Please be patient at all times and ensure safety of everyone comes first when driving and parking in this area.
KEY DATES IN TERM THREE
We are just finalising some excursion dates for Term 3 and will add in next weeks Newsflash, key dates for your calendars.
EAL/D (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) groups have been busy over Semester One working on speaking, listening, reading and writing. The following gallery shows some work completed by our Kindergarten, Year Two and Stage Two groups.

Double Bass Player Wanted!!
Artarmon's String Programme is looking for students who may be interested in learning the wonderful Double Bass. It is a beautiful instrument which makes a majestic sound and helps enhance the depth of every string ensemble. Bass students may one day also try out for the school's Jazz Band and Orchestra! In addition, every high school orchestra and string ensemble will be seeking bass players!
We have a wonderful bass tutor - Miss Emily Green - who will be able to offer lessons to your child at school. No prior musical experience necessary (bass guitarists will have a huge advantage though!). Students will be issued with 2 bass instruments - one for home use and one for school use, therefore there is no need for constant instrument transportation.
If you child is interested, please contact our string convenor and Mr Mansukhani will organise a tryout for your child.

Netball Round 6 Game Reports
Friday 17th June 2022
Team 3 Game Report Artarmon vs ANZAC Park
Final Score: 11 – 12 (loss)
Despite breaking our winning streak this week, we made a really good comeback in the second half against ANZAC Park Public School. Everyone did a great job defending and attacking as we got the ball off the other team many times. Our shooters were very accurate, using the 3 second rule to concentrate. Overall, we played a very good game as it was so close and we only lost by one point!

Team 4 Game Report Artarmon vs Lane Cove
Final Score: 5 - 1 (win) Scorers: Naomi Wei, Kaylee Wong
This game was a challenging game for Team 4. After a tough first half, we finished strongly with lots of goals to win the game. There were some excellent intercepts on both sides, making the game a lot like a rollercoaster. After missing out on many games at the start of the season due to rain, we still remain undefeated, having won four games in a row.

Artarmon Teams Game Report
On Friday we had a total of 3 teams who won their games and 3 teams which came extremely close. When we were watching other teams play we noticed they were doing a great job getting the ball back and defending. My friend said that they did well in the second half as well as her team scored more than the other team. Overall it was a great afternoon and we really enjoyed cheering on the other teams.
