It was wonderful this morning to welcome our excited 2023 Kindergarten students and families into the school for their second orientation day. The boys and girls were so settled and had a fantastic time getting to know their way around a classroom and interacting with new teachers and friends.
We are looking forward to having our third and final orientation morning next Wednesday.
ONLINE PARENT PORTAL - SCHOOL BYTES
For a number of years now our school fees and invoices have been sent out via email using the School Bytes finance system. More recently we have begun to create a paperless system for school permission notes and intend to maximise the systems ability as a centralised system for parent and student information.
School Bytes have now developed a Parent Portal that allows parents/carers to view payment history, outstanding fees, online permission notes and in future academic reports and more. This portal is now available for you to register and begin viewing your child / children's history and any outstanding fees.

For step by step instructions on setting up your Parent Portal click here
Reminders:
- Current 2022 fees can be paid using the link sent in a past statement.
- When setting up your Parent Portal, please use the same email address linked to your school account.
- If your details have changed and you can not see anything in the portal, please contact the office.
NOT RETURNING OR RETURNING LATE IN 2023?
The first day of school for most students next year will be Tuesday 31st January, 2023. Year 5 OC students will begin on Wednesday 1st February, 2023 and new Kindergarten students will book their Best Start interview date before their first official day on Monday 6th February 2023.
It is vital that we know if your child/children will NOT be returning to Artarmon or will be returning late next year. Some families take extended holidays in January/ February and we need to know your return date so that your enrolment can be counted. This information will enable the school to plan for staffing and classing needs.
This note does not apply to Year 6 students.
Please click here to fill in the form if your child is not returning or returning late in 2023.

WWF Fundraiser
By the student leaders
Over the course of this term, class SRC reps have worked together with Ms Harrington, Ms Smith and Ms Fenton to organise a special day to raise awareness about conserving and protecting our wildlife. They have picked the World Wildlife Fund to donate to, a global organisation that helps to protect wildlife and halt the decline of threatened animal species and plants. This cause is very relevant to our future, as animals are an important part of the ecosystem. As a wise man once said, “Nature and civilization are two sides of a coin and one can not survive without the other therefore it is our responsibility to protect our environment.”
On the 8th of December, everyone in Artarmon PS will have the opportunity to dress up as animals and bring a gold coin donation for the WWF. There are so many animals out there that you can dress up as virtually any animal you want. In addition to this, there will be an optional artwork competition. Students have the opportunity to create any artwork with a theme of animals, with an extra $2 entry fee to give to your SRC representative, which will also be donated. Your artwork can be digital, a painting, a sketch; you are limited only by your creativity. You must hand in your artwork by the 5th of December, to your SRC representative who will give it to Ms Harrington, Ms Smith, or Ms Fenton. Mr Coombes will then pick a winning artwork and a runner-up from each grade, and as a prize, their artwork will be displayed to the public and they will receive an animal plushie. The winners will be announced at one of the assemblies. The SRC reps will also make posters to spread the word about this event.
We hope that everyone will dress up, and that lots of people will enter the artwork competition so Artarmon PS can do our part and raise as much money as possible to donate and to save the threatened species. Enjoy the fundraiser!
