YR 6 NIGHT OF THE NOTABLES
This week and last week both 6KA and 6NK presented to their familes their Night of the Notables work. Students had completed a significant amount of research in regards to a person that interested them due to their impact on the world. The effort the students went to was clearly shown in their final product and their monolouge presentations. Students across the school have also had an opportunity to view their work and interact with their information booths to ask direct questions whilst the Year 6 students remained in character.
Congratulations to both 6KA and 6NK. If you would like to view a few of the recorded monologues, please click here to see them in our new online Newsflash format.
YEAR 2 ROAD SAFETY DAY
This week the Year 2 students were immersed in a road safety day to remind students the importance of being vigilent and following the rules to keep themselves safe. Students moved around different classes to engage in activities focusing on pedestrian, bike and car safety. It was an extremely successful day and the students each received a road safety showbag.
NOT RETURNING IN 2019, RETURNING LATE OR EXTENDED LEAVE
Student enrollments are extremely important when planning for the coming year in regards to staffing and strudent placement. If you are not returning or returning late, please log onto the Skoolbag app and complete the relevant forms in the ‘Notices’ section or fill in the PDF at the end of this Newsflash and return it to the front office.
There have been a number of families taking extended leave without notifying the school. Please be aware that a leave of absence longer than 10 days must be approved by the school principal. This is a legal departmental requirement.
CHANGE OF SCHOOL COMMUNICATION APP AND WEBSITE
Last week was the first announcement of our new website and online Newsflash. Go live dates will be published soon, however, do not forget to download the new Schoolzine app. Currently only 96 people have downloaded the app, so I think we have a few more left to go.
One of the major draw cards of moving our website to Schoolzine is that all information and weekly Newsflash articles can be translated imediately using the inbuilt Google Translate function.
The current skoolbag app will be phased out and the new Schoolzine app will be introduced. This app is a product of the website design company, therefore, community messages and events are synced making it easier for the community to access information.
We will start using the new SZapp from Week 4 – on the 5th November
To download the new Schoolzine app (SZapp) please follow the instructions attached below.

Road Safety
At our most recent P&C Meeting we spoke about the need to ensure we all get to and from school safely.
There has been a coordinated effort from our school to make sure road safety is treated with the care and seriousness it warrants. This has particularly been the case while our building works have been progressing.
If you can avoid driving to school or park elsewhere and walk, please do so while the final stages of building works are completed. My thanks to everyone for making our school zone as safe as it can be.
Year 2 Parents Evening – Fundraising, Monday 12th November
