KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION

Mrs Blake and Mrs Singh organised todays first Kindergarten Orientation for 2020. The children were a little nervous ( as were the parents) but enjoyed the activities they did. Mr Sherley and 5NS helped out and did a great job.

The next orientation will be on Wednesday 13 November.

If you know of any families who are yet to enrol please ask them come to the school office to get information.

BOOK WEEK PARADE

What a wonderful morning last Thursday. K-2 students really participated with fantastic costumes, and lots of smiles. Thanks also to the teachers who also dressed up for the day.  A BIG special mention to the Yr 6 teachers - Wizard of Oz characters. Fantastic effort!

Celebrate the Dads

Please join us to celebrate Father's Day at the Father's Day concert before school on Thursday 29^th August. Training, Junior, Concert, Senior and Jazz bands will perform, plus a chance to hear the Hawaii Touring Group before they head off on their trip of a lifetime! Details have been emailed to performers.

Collecting Cups!

Do you have some spare tea or coffee mugs at home? To assist in sustainability, we need more mugs for the new school hall kitchen. If you are able to donate any mugs, would you please bring them to the school hall on the morning of Thursday 29 August, for us to use for the Father's Day Concert. Thank you!

Tutorial Fees

Semester 2 invoices have been sent to parents for group tutorial fees for Year 3 students, covering terms 3 and 4. Thank you to everyone who has already paid, please paying your invoice now if you have not already done so.

Students in Years 4 to 6 who learn their instrument at school should pay your termly fees directly to your tutor. Please pay your tutor promptly so that they do not have to chase parents for fees.

Finally a reminder to parents to please let your child's tutor know in advance if your child is going to be away from school when their lesson is scheduled, for an excursion or any other reason.

Rehearsal Changes 2 – 6 September

Mr Walmsley will be away 2 - 6 September but band rehearsals continue with guest conductors! Junior Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Training Band rehearsal times are UNCHANGED. Senior Concert Band will join Concert Band for the usual Concert Band rehearsals on Monday morning and Thursday lunchtime. NO Senior Concert Band on Tuesday morning. NO Orchestra on Wednesday morning.

Wear the school uniform with pride, help each other, help the teachers, be responsible, be friendly, be kind to each other, and have a lot of fun!

 And put everything you’ve got into your performances – you’re only doing them once.

If you’re keen to learn a string instrument or join the strings program in 2020, there will be try-outs and auditions in Term 4 this year.

Check Newsflash closer to the time – or if your child is in Year 2 they will be given information sheets.

Update your details

If you are not receiving emails from the strings committee, you need to log into your parent portal and update your contact details immediately. A lot of information goes out via email that is not included in Newsflash.
