NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Our imaginative play space is installed! This is a great addition to our playground with students being able to interact with the equipment whilst also engaging with their peers and developing relationships.
Our second playground equipment is almost complete and when open will allow the students to utilise a range of gross motor skills to navigate their way through the obstacles.
Both these additions to our playground have been jointly funded by the school and the community grant we received earlier this term.
NIGHT OF THE NOTABLES
Congratulations to our Year Six OC classes who on Monday hosted their Night of the Notables. This years Notables were all famous Australians who had made a significant impact in their field. An enormous amount of work went into researching, creating and preparing for the day. It was fantastic to see the years 3-6 students interact with the Notables throughout the day and familes see it all come together in the evening.
A huge thanks must go to Mrs Margaret Steed and Mrs Stephanie Sun, who have guided the students throughout the process.

REACH ASSESSMENTS
This week students were given their REACH assessment ceretificates. These certificates do not come with students results nor is there a parent portal to log into and view student achievement. These assessments were a trial for us this year as the ICAS assessments were only available online and we as a school do no have the infrastructure to administer ICAS online.
COFFEE, CAKE AND CHAT
Teachers are looking forward to morning tea on the 5th of December to thank all our parent helpers for all their hard work over the year. We hope you can join us.
CAROLS NIGHT - Friday 6th December 6pm
Don't forget to save the date for our amazing carols night. Friday 6th December at 6pm. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the end of the year and festive season. Bring a picnic blanket, sit down, relax, socialise and enjoy some entertainment from our choirs and musicians.
It is also the perfect time to dust off the festive outfits and dress to impress!
SOPHIE MITCHELL - PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY 2019
Being a Principal isn't easy. I didnt expect it to be so hard. In the morning I was taught how to use the printer then I had to sort through paperwork. Although I spent most of my time presenting my speech (which I had made earlier) I still spent a lot of time in the office. It was extremely exciting as well as nerve wracking. I hope that all the other Principals For the Day have just as much fun as I did.

WINNING HOUSE: Melba |
Year 1 have been learning about sustainability and caring for our environment. We have been reading books like The Lorax and The Curious Garden, writing about them and doing artwork based on them. We have been watching the plants in the school garden grow and some of us even got to plant some new ones.
Throughout the Semester Year 6 researched sustainability and Australian food production. In cooperation with the P&C garden committee they have established our school gardens.
On Friday last week, 6JM harvested and set up a farmers market to sell the produce they had grown, using their own token based currency system. They engaged in maths, science and geography learning experiences throughout the task.
