EDUCATION WEEK
Education Week is an annual celebration of NSW public education and the achievements of local schools and students. This year the theme of Education Week is 'Learning Together'.
Normally in Education week we would invite parents, carers and grandparents onto the school grounds to celebrate, as a community, the achievemets and success of our wonderful school.
As this year is 'a little' diffrerent to past years, please enjoy some images below of classes 'Learning Together' and students and teachers doing what they do best.
Know that we appreciate what you, as parents and carers, are doing to support your children at home and that this has a significant impact on how they interact, grow and learn in the school environment.
Currently students and teachers are working on a short video to capture Artarmon PS 'Learning Together' this week. Make sure you keep an eye on the school app at the end of the week for links to view.
HALL ARTWORK FINISHED
To add to our already magnificent performance space, the commissioned artwork has now been completed. It is an amazing addition and really showcases our school and its value of the performing arts.
A huge thanks and appreciation to the designer and creator, Hugue Sineux.
ATHLETCS CARNIVAL
As mentioned last week we were planing to go ahead with a non competitive athletics carnival at ES Marks sports field in Cenntennial Parklands. Due to restrictions on student numbers within the park, this has now been cancelled.
We are currently looking at dates to schedule a Stage 2 (Year 3 & 4 ) and a Stage 3 (Year 5 & 6 ) fun sports day on the oval. More information about this will be communicated in the coming weeks.
PARENTS OUTSIDE SCHOOL GROUNDS
Please remember that standing outside the school grounds to watch or take photos of children in the playground or participating in dance and sport is not acceptable. If found standing around, teachers will ask you to move on.
TAKING CARE IN THE HOME WITH CHEMICALS / POISONS
It is always a good idea to remind ourselves of the importance of ensuring our homes are safe and all chemicals/poisons are stored securly and out of reach of children.
Please take the time to read the fact sheet below and check that all chemical/poisons in your home are secured safely.

The Year 3 Fundraising Committee would like to say a big thank you to all the teachers, students and parents for their participation in Wacky Hair Day yesterday. It was wonderful to see so many people get involved and see all the amazing creations that you came up with. It seemed like a fun day was had by all. As a result of all your great efforts we were able to raise $1,336.75. This will go towards the purchase of shade cloths to cover the play equipment at the school. Once again thank you.

Dear String parents
Welcome back to Term 3, by now, the students should be back into routine with their tutorials and ensemble rehearsal. With school photos being taken next week, ensemble groups will also be photographed with opportunities to purchase these photos at a later date (to be advised).
Update your details
If you are not receiving emails from the Strings Committee, you need to log into your parent portal and update your contact details immediately. A lot of information goes out via email that is not included in Newsflash.
If you have trouble logging into the parent portal, email your group coordinator or the strings address below.
Got a question?
Have you looked in the 2020 Strings information pack? A copy is available at https://portal.msmusic.com.au/artarmonmusic.
If it is about your hired instrument or instrumental tutorial please contact your tutor firstly, then our instrument coordinator or tutor coordinator if required. For anything else please contact your strings coordinator.
