STRING NEWS

New volunteers

Please welcome our new volunteers – Ian (treasurer), Charisma (orchestra coordinator), Angie (doing a great job sorting out the Creative Kids vouchers), Priya, and Sonika. Thanks for coming on board. I’m looking forward to working with all of you this year.

Payments due

Invoices have gone out now for ensemble fees and instrument hire. Please email the treasurer (stringstreasurer@gmail.com) if you have not received one or if you have any questions about your invoice.

Creative Kids voucher

Remember, if you want to use the Creative Kids voucher, please log on to the music parent portal at https://portal.msmusic.com.au/artarmonmusic and provide the details. As per previous instructions, if you wish to use the Creative Kids voucher you must pay $100 less than your invoice total. We will then credit the $100 against your invoice when we have redeemed the voucher from Service NSW. You must do this before your pay.

Please update your child’s class details and your contact details in the parent portal – this is important for a lot of reasons. Just do it. Please.

Senior Strings auditions – Festival of Instrumental Music performance

Auditions April 2^nd

You should have received an email from your Senior Strings coordinator regarding the auditions for the Festival of Instrumental Music at the Opera House in August.

Please contact Ada Pan if you have not received it.

Calendar:

	Friday 12th April – Annual Easter Breakfast Concert (orchestra)
	Thu May 9^th– Mothers’ Day Concert, before school – all string ensembles
	Sat 1st June (1pm - 5.30pm) and Sun 2nd June (9am - 3pm): Music Intensive weekend (concert strings, senior strings and orchestra)
	Mon June 17^th – Sydney Eisteddfod (orchestra and senior strings)
	Sept 1-7 – Hawaii Tour
	October 26-27 – Music Camp, Yrs 4-6, overnight
	November 17 – Proposed date for end of year strings concert

Ensemble rehearsals:

Training Strings: Tuesdays lunchtime, starts in Term 2

Junior Strings: 7:45-8:45am Tuesdays, middle level S block

Concert Strings: 7:45-8:45 Thursdays, middle level S block

Senior Strings: 3-4pm Tuesdays, music room

Orchestra: 8-8:50am Wednesdays, music room
