FRIDAY FUN DAY
This Friday all students K-6 are to wear their sports uniform and bring some food to have a picnic with their class to celebrate the end of a long building project. Students will be able to participate in a morning of games and acivities provided by Sports Pro.
The hall will be open for parents and community members to take the opportunity to view the new facilities and appreciate what our community has worked so very hard to achieve. Tea and coffee will be available in the hall kitchen.
ANZAC SERVICE
ANZAC Day occurs on 25 April every year. On this day we honour all the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world, including the ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. Incredibly, more than 100 years have passed since Australia’s involvement in the First World War.
An ANZAC service wil be held at school on Friday 12th April for the students and staff to pay their respects.

STUDENTS IN CANBERRA
Last week the students and teachers from Yr 6 went on an educational tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $20 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
The students are to be commended for their manners and the way they represented Artarmon Public School whilst away. A huge thank you to the Year 6 teachers who gave up their own family time to take the students away and provide them with these important learning experiences.
