INVOICES
Invoice reminders were sent out last week and a reminder in last weeks Newsflash. Please understand that unpaid fees for extracurricular activities like excursions and incursions impact the school by having to take money away from core teaching and learning materials. We will resend these next week via email to any families who have outstanding fees. Thanks in advance to those families for the prompt action. If you have any concerns or would like support with your school fees, please email the school.
SASS APPRECIATION WEEK
This week is School Administrative & Support Staff (SASS) Appreciation week. We are so very lucky here at Artarmion with our outstanding team of people who without them we would not function. They are not only the visible and helpful Administration and library staff but our wonderful School Learning & Support Officers (SLSOs) who are in the classroom working with students and teachers to provide the best learning environments and experiences for your children. This may be a designated week to acknowledge and show our appreciation for our SASS team, however, they are appreciated and valued every single day. If you pop into the office or see an SLSO in the playground, don't hesitate to voice your thanks and appreciation for everything they do for our school community.
THE FATHERING PROJECT
What a amazing first event the 'Paper Planes and Pizza' was for our dads, granddads and father figures last Saturday as part of the Fathering Project initiative. The purpose of introducing this initiative into the school and the P&C was purely based on building our community sense of belonging and connection to school through kids and their dads or father figures. The evidence demonstrating fathers’ potential to positively influence their children’s health and mental health, social success and academic achievements is now robust, indisputable, and compelling.
This was clearly evident on the weekend as you can see with images below, a simple event set up to provide an opportunity for our dads to have some quality and slightly competitive time with their children, to make and throw paper planes whilst eating pizza.
A huge thank you to core group of dads who put the effort behind the scenes and the P&C for funding the pizza to make this event happen. I know many more dads have signed up to help for the next event and I am sure this is just the beginning of a community project that will be an integral part of our school and students connection to us as a community and their sense of belonging.

The next event will be Tuesday 15th November 2022 at 6:30pm-more details to come.
