TIME TO REFLECT

As a reflection point it is interesting to look back over the past 12 months and think about how things have changed and everything we have been able to achieve.

Yesterday, 25th October, marked the one year anniversary of schools opening back up after over 12 weeks of online learning. It was a wonderful celebration and we should all be very proud of how we have worked together as a school community to keep everyone safe.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

As previously mentioned there have been some recent changes to the end of year calendar. Please make sure you have added these dates into your diaries.

2022

• FRIDAY 16th December - Last day of school for ALL students.

2023

• TUESDAY 31st January - First day for years 1-6.
• MONDAY 6th February - First day for Kindergarten 2023.

WORLD TEACHER DAY - FRIDAY 28TH OCTOBER

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing teachers for everything they do to create a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment for the students at Artarmon Public School.

PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

After a couple of years absence, the Public Speaking finals were held on Monday 24^th and Tuesday 25^th in our school hall. The winner from each class presented to their peers, parents and adjudicators for an overall grade winner for Years 1-6 with kindergarten presenting a wonderful showcase.  A huge congratulations to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 for their efforts in writing, preparing and delivering such high quality and engaging speeches- the talent was tremendous!

Year 2- Winner: Chelsea Lam (2MK).

Year 3: Winner: Gabriella Goeta-Cheng (3MM)

Year 4: Winner: Sidra Aleem Uddin (4DG)

Year 6: Winner: Kristina Kordusic

CONGRATULATIONS AYUMI

Ayumi was selected to represent a team from the Tennis Australia Super 10’s in the Dorn Fogarty Cup in Bathurst. She won all of her matches and her team also won the entire Cup winning the trophy. Past players of this Cup include Nick Kyriois, Jordan Thompson and Monique Adamczak.

An amazing achievement and I look forward to watching Ayumi's long and successful tennis career. Congratulations Ayumi.

INVOICES

Thank you to everyone for their prompt payment of our final 2022 school invoice. If you have missed the email, we will resend any unpaid fees next week for families to follow up. As mentioned previously, the $8 fee paid in Term 3 for the Opera performance that was cancelled will be used in Term 4 to provide end of year creative arts activities for the students. If you have any questions about your invoice, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

NOT RETURNING OR RETURNING LATE IN 2023?

The first day of school for most students next year will be Tuesday 31st January, 2023. Year 5OC students will begin on Wednesday 1st February, 2023 and new Kindergarten students will be informed by letter of their Best Start interview date before their first official day on Monday 6th February 2023.

It is vital that we know if your child/children will NOT be returning to Artarmon or will be returning late next year. Some families take extended holidays in January/ February and we need to know your return date so that your enrolment can be counted. This information will enable the school to plan for staffing and classing needs.

This note does not apply to Year 6 students.
