SCHOOL SPECTACULAR

I was lucky enough to be able to witness 11 of our students perform at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday night as part of the NSW Department of Education School Spectacular. It was a wonderful experience and I know from speaking to the students themselves, they loved every moment. A huge thank you must go to Ms Marshall and Ms Prowse, who gave up their time to work closely with the students and make this whole adventure possible.

If you would like to watch the Spectacular, set your calendars Saturday 17th December at 7pm on Channel 7.

Schools Spectacular 2022 - Students point of view.

Schools Spectacular was an amazing experience with all the props, lights, cameras and actions.  Our favourite songs were ‘Something Just Like This” and the opening segment which featured “Into The Unknown” and “Backstage Romance”. We sung many songs, 22 in fact! During the performance, we also were given a bag of light up props we used for the songs.  There were torches, gloves, masks, a wand and a pendant.  We loved getting lost in the sound and the crowd cheering for us at the end of every song. We had the opportunity to sing in a 2300 voice choir, and perform “Sogno Di Volare” on stage. This year, the schools spectacular was held at Quodos Bank Arena, which we think is perfect because it had giant retractable screens and speakers and lots of seats.  The choir wasn’t the only group performing.  There was lots of dancers, silk artists, and there were soloists that sung amazingly.  There was also a festival outside with games, jumping castles and lots of food we could enjoy.  It was a good break from singing. We could mix with people of different age groups. The theme this year was “Creating the Magic”, which definitely happened!  It was truely spectacular.

These reports outline areas of achievement and areas your child is working towards. When reading these with your children, be proud of their achievements and celebrate their success as a family.  Reports will be sent home via email. Please ensure you download and save these somewhere safe.

RUGBY LEAGUE GALA DAY

On Tuesday November 15th, 60 students from years 3 to 6 represented Artarmon Public School at the North Sydney League Tag Gala Day. As a lead up to the event, the students were treated to a training session with ex NRL players Greg Florimo and Jason Taylor. Everyone trained hard and learnt lots of skills in preparation for the competition day.
The students competed in stage teams in the tag competition at Koola Park in Killara. One tackle team was also formed, consisting of students from years 4 to 6. Everyone played with enthusiasm and showed off their impressive skills. They represented their school with pride and had lots of fun too!
