INFECTIOUS DISEASE LETTER

One of the most important aspects of a school community is supporting each other and keeping everyone safe. Please take this into consideration and know that a student in our school community is currently receiving medical treatment for cancer. The student will be attending school while recovering from treatments and their side effects.

As this student has a compromised immune system and is more vulnerable to disease, it is important that you do not send your children to school if they are unwell. For example, if your child has an infectious disease (such as the measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, shingles or flu), your child should stay at home until no longer contagious. For more information about how long an illness is contagious, contact your GP or visit the NSW Health website at health.nsw.gov.au.

If your child has an infectious disease, or is suspected of having an illness, please contact the school immediately. This will allow us to assess the probable contact and exposure of our student to the disease. Notification can then be given to the parents and medical specialists.

As a school community we value your support in relation to the well-being of all our students. If you have any concerns, please contact me via the school email.
