CROSS COUNTRY
By : Elyssa and Yara 6MB
Stitches, we all get them. How do we get them? From running a huge lap.
Hi, Elyssa and Yara here, writing to you about Cross Country. Artarmon Public School had the Cross Country Carnival on the Wednesday of Term 2, Week 3. The house winner is yet to be announced making everyone stand on their tippy-toes waiting. The morning of Cross Country was quite nerve-racking for us. Here is an interview from Phoenix, a student from class 6MB.
Elyssa: How do you feel about Cross Country?
Phoenix: Well, it was very good but also very challenging because I had to run five whole laps around the area of Artarmon Reserve.
In most people’s opinions, everyone thought the Cross Country was going to be challenging because we heard we had to run many laps, but we all had fun in the end, and spent lots of time outside with our friends and being able to build trust in ourselves and self-confidence

GIRLS KNOCKOUT CRICKET
By Divya.C
On the 11th of May, Artarmon Girls Cricket Team went to Artarmon reserve to play Mona Vale Public School. Many of us had never played a competitive match of cricket before, so kudos to Bhavika, Dyuthi, Orla, Shiori, Vidhi and Avea for working together as a team. We hadn’t played together, so we were all considerably nervous when we walked to Artarmon Reserve.
With the amount of stretches we did prior to the match; I was worried someone would break a leg before we even started playing! Our captain, Siona, won the toss and chose to bat first. The whole thing was very tense and watching the batsmen play was nerve-wracking. We all gave it 100% and improved with every ball! Congrats to Myra who made 30 runs for the team. We made a total of 2 for 160.
After a quick break, the second innings got underway, and it was our turn to bowl and field. Kriti and Siona both got two wickets for the team, and Nishika got two catches and a wicket. Everyone fielded excellently, which limited Mona Vale to 10 for 77. This meant we won the match by 83 runs!
Thank you very much to Mr Johnson for organising the match, as we all had a great time. We are all super proud of ourselves and looking forward to our next match!
BOYS KNOCKOUT CRICKET
By Shubham G.
Hi, MY NAME IS Shubham, captain of the school knockout cricket team. I am pleased to share the fact that the Artarmon Public School cricket team has won their first game.
Everyone in the team played exceptionally well. Specific key players and stats that stood out were, Arjun Mulik retiring at 40 runs, Jack Watt taking three crucial wickets in two overs and Samay Gowing for getting two run outs and one wicket.
In the end, everyone played their best game and put in their full effort. A special thanks to our opponent, Lane Cove for playing a really high intensity game.
Without the effort of teachers and students there wouldn’t have been such an amazing game, thank you.
