YEAR 5 & 6 DEBATING
Year Five and Year Six debating students have been busy finalising their debates.
On Monday 7th August Artarmon Public School versed Lane Cove Public School in round three of the Premier's Debating Challenge. After excellent arguments on all sides, LCPS Green defeated APS Y6 Magpies, while APS Y5 Owls were victorious against LCPS White. The adjudicator and audience of Mr Coombes and 2SL were absolutely riveted and highly impressed by the standard demonstrated.
On Friday 11th August APS Y6 Magpies eagerly debated against APS Y5 Owls. This was a standout battle, highlighting both team's exemplary team work, communication, and public speaking skills. Both teams were happily joined by an audience of 5IW and 5MK, who respectfully engaged in this exciting round. After careful consideration, the adjudicator awarded the negative team, APS Y5 Owls as the winners. Graciously, APS Y6 Magpies congratulated and thanked their opponents on a fantastic round.
