PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello to all our Artarmon families and community members.
Welcome to Term 4, 2023!
Although it has only been a week since the Term started, it has been amazing to see the buzz of our teachers, students and community members around the school.
Term 4 is an exciting time in any school and I am, as always very excited for everything we are going to achieve this term and get celebrate with you and our community.
A HUGE thank you to our P&C and the tribe of volunteers including students that were here on Saturday to raise funds for our school through the food stalls during the referendum voting. The atmosphere created at the front of the school was so positive and it really showed a deep community connection to our school. A very proud moment for me when I popped over to say hello.
Over $9,200 raised!
BOOKS BOOKS AND MORE BOOKS!
Using funds from the 2023 voluntary contribution, P&C fundraising and school we have purchased over $25,000 worth of new books to use in our school. This is such a welcomed resource and the teachers are so excited to begin using these in the classrooms and through our home K-2 home reading program.

PARENT HELPERS NEEDED!
Before we can get all these new resources in our class rotations, we were hoping we might be able to ask some parents or grandparents to spare us some time to help unpack and organise these for our teachers. This time is so appreciated and is a huge support for our teachers.
When: Tuesday 31st October
Time: 9am
Location: Please come to the office and sign in.
If you are able to volunteer some time to help organise and prepare our new books, please sign up using the following link.

NOT RETURNING IN 2024 or RETURNING LATE
It is vital that we know if your child/children will NOT be returning to Artarmon or will be returning late next year. Some families take extended holidays in January/February and we need to know your return date so that your enrolment can be counted. This information will enable the school to plan for staffing and classing needs.

If your family are not returning in 2024 or returning late, please let us know by filling in this simple form.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR REGIONAL ATHLETES!
Last Tuesday, we had 9 students represent Artarmon at the Sydney North Regional Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park and each and everyone of them should be extremely proud of their effort and achievement.

Silver Medal – Boys Double Individual Championships
What a champion!
THOMPSON OVAL
As we published last term and you may have heard through the Council, Thompson Oval is being ripped up and a new synthetic turf will be put down. Our initial communications from the Council was this would start at the beginning of October so we had planned not to have students using the oval for lunch and play times.
The Council have been delayed slightly and this is a few weeks off starting. We will continue to use this space for our sport activities until this time.
I will be sure to let you all know when the fences start to go up, as this will impact some families in regard to drop off and pick up locations. If does impact you, please start plan how you might alter your morning or afternoon routine to ensure a safe route to and from school.
