A Message from the Artarmon P&C

Dear Artarmon Parents and Citizens, 

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

We are delighted to announce that Willoughby Council has voted in favour of reopening Artarmon OOSH for Before School Care from Term 1, 2024. The opening is conditional on sufficient numbers but our demand survey showed we have almost 3 times as many people needing the service as the minimum number. Thanks to all who responded to the survey. We will provide more information when enrolments open.

Especial thanks to Councillor Anna Greco who really helped us get this through Council, and to Kelly Singh and Jono Coombes who supported us too.

Democracy Dumpling Day

Last weekend APS supported the Australian democratic system and held the inaugural "Democracy Dumpling" event with great success.

There was a flurry of activities from morning to the afternoon which included the ever present sausage sizzle, Democracy Dumplings coupled with fresh dumpling making demonstrations.  It was a true community family event - we had volunteers across three generations, from grandparents, parents and APS kids all getting involved.  It created such a euphoric atmosphere that two SBS news crews paid us a visit. SBS World News aired on the night of the 14th and also SBS Mandarin which will be aired on weeknights at 8:30 pm.

In addition to funds raised for P&C, it was apparent that we created a tangible community spirit for APS that we are proud of. 

I would like to extend the invitation to all APS families to get involved in the next event and join in the spirit of the APS community.

I would like to thank our sponsor Camp Australia, all the volunteers, the community who let us use their cooking appliances, Jono and school staff in contributing to make the event a success.
