3PS discussed the celebration of Ramadan.  The beginning of the month of Ramadan is marked by the spotting of the crescent (new moon). The moon is considered new when it begins its new cycle around the Earth. The moon goes through phases, starting with the new moon, passing through crescent, half and gibbous moons, to the full moon, and back again. We explored the phases of the moon and the importance it plays during Ramadan.
