PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
HAWAII TOUR
What a wonderful week it was with 50 of our students. It was such a pleasure to travel with children who were respectful and enthusiastic about the opportunity. We visited and performed at 3 schools and shared some time with the Hawaiian students.
We visited Pearl Harbour, Polynesian Cultural Centre, Diamond Head and learnt how to hula and make leis.
Thanks to Mr Coombes, Mrs Correa, Mrs Wilkinson, Mr Thompson, Mr Walmsley and Mr Mansukhani for joining us and supporting the students.

Virtual School Tour
There is a Virtual School Tour published on the home page of our website. The tour highlights many of the aspects that we are very proud of at Artarmon PS and is a useful snapshot of what school life looks like here. It is also translated into Mandarin. Please visit it on our school webpage by clicking the link on the home screen or http://360virtualschooltours.com.au/aps/
Successful Grant
Congratulations to the P & C who were successful in securing a My Community Project Grant for $75 000 to build playground equipment. It shows the strength in the partnership of the school and community working together. Thank you to the parent volunteers who put forward the grant and raised awareness to vote for our school project. We’re looking forward to beginning the project together.
STUDENT TRAIN TRAVEL
We have a large number of students travelling to and from school by train. Generally our students are respectful and well behaved. Occasionally we get reports from the public identifying students who have not behaved appropriately.
Can I remind students and parents that it is not mandatory for people to give up their seat, it is respectful behaviour. The only time a person can be asked to give up their seat is if they are sitting in the red chair in the vestibule area of the A and B sets as that seat is permanently reserved (there is a sign posted above the seat) for customers who need it more than you i.e., elderly, disabled, pregnant, broken bones.
The Code of Conduct for school students is attached
MCMILLAN RD PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Can I please remind parents and caregivers that there is teacher supervision for the playground equipment from 8.25am -3.00pm.
If children use the equipment outside those times they must be supervised by a parent or caregiver.
