Principal's Message
CONGRATULATIONS
Mrs Emma Blake has been successful in her application for the Deputy Principal position at Willoughby Public School. She will be starting this position on the first day next term.
Ms Jo Miller will be filling the position Mrs Blake held and Mrs Janelle Jefferies will be the 3JM class teacher for all of Term 4.
Ms Alex Way will be the Relieving Assistant Principal on Yr 3.
As a result of this change we will need to advertise for an Assistant Principal next term.
MERIT SELECTION PANEL TRAINING - HELP!
We desperately need parents to volunteer as representatives on panels where we select staff.
We need a mix of male and females to support us please. The training is now done online so it is a simple process. The more volunteers we have the better.
Mrs Keevers will run a very short information session on Wednesday 25 September at 8.30am in the school Library.
MORE GREAT ARTWORKS!

ANSTO AWARDS
This year, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) invited primary schools in Greater Sydney/Illawarra and Melbourne to participate in their Shorebirds Competition. Students in Years 3 to 6 were asked to create a public awareness poster for a threatened shorebird found in Australia.
This activity required learning and thinking about the different threats to shorebirds and their coastal and wetland habitats. It also enabled students to reflect on their contribution to this growing issue, and how they could encourage others to take action to prevent further environmental impact.
Some Artarmon Public School classes participated and a number of students have been acknowledged for their creative contribution to the competition including:
Highly Commended
Sophie Y., 6MS
Commended
Emily L., 6EA
ZiAo Z., 6MS
Jordan Y., 4KA
Well done to these students and all those who contributed.
