OC Demo
Thank you, Senior Strings, for performing at the new OC demonstration yesterday. I know this is getting to be a busy time of year for you and we appreciate the sacrifices you make – missing out on class, that sort of thing …
Enrolment deadline for 2019 Strings Program – Friday November 16
If you still haven’t enrolled your child in the program, you need to do so by this Friday November 16.
Go to https://portal.msmusic.com.au/artarmonmusic.
Click on the New Student Registration button and complete the registration screens, including setting up a password for the parent portal.
If you already have a child in the program and wish to add a sibling, log on to your account in the MySchoolMusic parent portal and click on the Add Student button.
Deadline for new student registration is November 16 or November 23 for Year 5 OC and current students.
Strings Try-outs, Tuesday November 27, morning
Newly registered students will get to try the choices of string instruments. No experience is necessary. This is to see which students are suited to which instruments.
You will be told of exact times closer to the date.
Current student re-enrolment by November 23
Re-enrolment emails have already gone out. Make sure you check your emails and get onto that as soon as you can.
Instrument return Wednesday December 12
Current students will need to return all hired instruments by Week 9 for cleaning and checking, and pick them up before the end of term. This will most likely be on Wednesday December 12. If that time doesn’t suit, you will have to make other arrangements. Please let us know in advance.
Auditions for current students, Week 8
Audition information has already gone out to all students, which includes scales and pieces required, and ensemble timeslots during the week of December 3rd.
Exact times for individual students won’t be issued until closer to the date.
Volunteers 2019
Thank you for those who have already expressed an interest in helping out next year.
Remember that the program runs entirely with the help of parent volunteers, and volunteering is a great way to meet other parents and become involved in the musical side of the school.
Please let us know if you are interested in hearing more.
Christmas Carols, December 7
Hopefully your house is ringing with the sound of joyful Christmas carol practice. Don’t get hung up on auditions – it’s not all about the serious stuff. Remember that playing an instrument is also about bringing joy to other people, bringing them together, and having fun with your friends while you do it.
So no silent nights at home, OK?
