TERM 3 REMINDER

School resumes for students on Tuesday 13 July.

The school will not be operational on Monday 12 July as staff will be offsite at a Professional Learning Day.

A reminder for all families

It is important that schools and families continue to follow the COVID-19 guidelines outlined on this page. In particular we wish to highlight the following:

  • Students should not attend school if unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms should be sent home and should not return until they have received a negative test result and are symptom-free. In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.
  • Anyone who is unwell with COVID-19 symptoms is strongly encouraged to get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received. Locations of testing clinics are available via the NSW government website.
  • Schools must continue to implement:
    • Personal hygiene, physical distancing, cleaning and record keeping practices.
    • Where possible to use outdoor areas weather permitting or large open spaces to enable adequate physical distancing.
    • All visitors to a school site must be well and symptom free, comply with sign-in arrangements, and the 1.5m physical distancing requirements.
  • Visitors to schools should maintain 1.5m distance from other people where practicable. Avoid congestion of groups of visitors in specific areas where possible.
  • All visitors to a school site must comply with sign-in arrangements.  Parents and carers who are dropping off or picking up students do not need to sign in or use the Service NSW QR code.

SCHOOL INVOICES

Currently there is $43000 outstanding on school invoices. We will be sending out invoices again today as a reminder. Many of these invoices are for excursion children have already participated in.

If your family needs assistance to pay these invoices please contact the school so we can assist.

STRANGER DANGER

Now that school has returned to normal and children are participating in sport on weekends etc it is a good time for parents to reinforce with their children how to keep themselves safe. Teachers will be following up with this as well.

HIDING AFTER SCHOOL

School finishes each day at 2.55pm. We understand that school finish times do not always line up with adult work finish times however it is a parental responsibility to ensure your children are safely cared for after school.

Every afternoon we find children hiding outside the school because parents cannot pick them up until later. It is even more disappointing to find that parents have instructed their child to hide. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE PRACTICE.

There are after school opportunities for parents and these are the safest places for children. There is information in the office hallway to assist with contact information for After School Care.

"If it's not in the Loo"

Students in 6SW have identified a problem within the school and are doing their best to help solve it.

They have clearly identified that the school toilets are being cleaned regularly and yet they are still dirty. These students have spoken to the children who use the toilets (every child) and asked for them to remember that it is all our job to use the facilities correctly.

Well Done 6SW
