P&C MEETING

All are welcome to attend the P&C meeting tonight in the school hall at 6pm.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT REPORTS

The Curriculum planning and programming, assessing and reporting to parents K-12 policy standards document has been updated as part of the department's response to support schools through impacts caused by COVID-19.

All schools now have greater flexibility in how they report to parents in Semester 2, 2021.

Overview of changes – components of the written report

Schools are required to issue a formal written report to parents for Semester 2. The formal written report for each student will:

  • use plain English
  • describe student progress and achievement on the learning covered during the reporting period, including the learning from home period
  • provide teacher comments to describe student learning and identify the next steps in learning
  • provide information about student attendance and commitment to learning where possible

Artarmon Public School Student Achievement reports for Semester 2, 2021 will not include A-E scales for Achievement but will include teacher comments only in:

English

Mathematics

General Comment

Assessment of Effort

PRESENTATION DAY AWARDS

Parents will not be present on the day and the award presentations will be held outside. Parents of new Student Leaders will be invited to meet their children outside the school after the Yr 5&6 Presentation.

This has been a challenging year for us all in the Artarmon community and as you can see from the information above even our student reports will be different this term. Our focus has been on English, Mathematics and Wellbeing. At Artarmon Public School, we implement 'Program Achieve' to assist our students to develop life skills. The end of year awards will reflect this.

There will be 6 awards for each class: Getting Along, Confidence, Organisation, Persistence, Resilience and Class Citizenship.

Each award will be a special certificate except the Citizenship Award which will be a medallion. Families of award winners will be notified in advance and invited to watch a Live Stream of the event.

Dates:

Tuesday  7 December - 9.15am Yr 5&6

Tuesday 7 December -10.15am Kindergarten

Wednesday 8 December - 9.15am Yr 1&2

BUS NEWS

From 9 January 2022, all bus services to schools in our area will be operated by Busways an Australian-owned company with 79 years' track record in safely delivering students to and from schools in NSW.

The first thing to note is that bus services will continue seamlessly from 9 January 2022, so the only change your students who travel by bus may notice is a new Busways uniform worn by their driver.

The same process also remains in place for students and their families to apply for free or subsidised school travel under Transport for NSW’s School Student Travel Scheme

Timetables and trip planning tools for services in your area will remain available at transportnsw.info.

CONGRATULATIONS

Vannyah Handa year 5/6CW is selected as one of the winner of the Festive Art competition.
