Attendance and absences
Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.
In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent.

Homework
Homework bridges the gap between learning at school and learning at home. It strengthens home-school links and reaffirms the role of parents and carers as partners in education. Consideration in the homework policy (PDF 109KB) is given to the key elements of quality, manageability and communication.
Student leadership
Through the promotion of students as leaders at Artarmon Public School, students of all ages are encouraged to accept leadership roles within their own class, within sporting houses and within the school. Please download the leadership procedures (PDF 198KB).

Special Religious Education & Ethics
At Artarmon Public School, SRE and SEE is delivered on Thursday from 8.55-9.40 for Years 5 & 6, 9.40-10.20 for Years 3 & 4 and 10.20-10.55am for K-2 students.
On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE and SEE participation letter complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE/SEE should be given to your child’s classroom teacher or to the office, in writing.

During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities such as reading, drawing or completing homework.
