TERM 3 REMINDER
School resumes for students on Tuesday 13 July.
The school will not be operational on Monday 12 July as staff will be offsite at a Professional Learning Day.
A reminder for all families
It is important that schools and families continue to follow the COVID-19 guidelines outlined on this page. In particular we wish to highlight the following:
- Students should not attend school if unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms should be sent home and should not return until they have received a negative test result and are symptom-free. In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.
- Anyone who is unwell with COVID-19 symptoms is strongly encouraged to get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received. Locations of testing clinics are available via the NSW government website.
- Schools must continue to implement:
- Personal hygiene, physical distancing, cleaning and record keeping practices.
- Where possible to use outdoor areas weather permitting or large open spaces to enable adequate physical distancing.
- All visitors to a school site must be well and symptom free, comply with sign-in arrangements, and the 1.5m physical distancing requirements.
- Visitors to schools should maintain 1.5m distance from other people where practicable. Avoid congestion of groups of visitors in specific areas where possible.
- All visitors to a school site must comply with sign-in arrangements. Parents and carers who are dropping off or picking up students do not need to sign in or use the Service NSW QR code.
SCHOOL INVOICES
Currently there is $43000 outstanding on school invoices. We will be sending out invoices again today as a reminder. Many of these invoices are for excursion children have already participated in.
If your family needs assistance to pay these invoices please contact the school so we can assist.
STRANGER DANGER
Now that school has returned to normal and children are participating in sport on weekends etc it is a good time for parents to reinforce with their children how to keep themselves safe. Teachers will be following up with this as well.
HIDING AFTER SCHOOL
School finishes each day at 2.55pm. We understand that school finish times do not always line up with adult work finish times however it is a parental responsibility to ensure your children are safely cared for after school.
Every afternoon we find children hiding outside the school because parents cannot pick them up until later. It is even more disappointing to find that parents have instructed their child to hide. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE PRACTICE.
There are after school opportunities for parents and these are the safest places for children. There is information in the office hallway to assist with contact information for After School Care.
"If it's not in the Loo"
Students in 6SW have identified a problem within the school and are doing their best to help solve it.
They have clearly identified that the school toilets are being cleaned regularly and yet they are still dirty. These students have spoken to the children who use the toilets (every child) and asked for them to remember that it is all our job to use the facilities correctly.
Well Done 6SW

This year the camp will be held at The Collaroy Centre, 22 Homestead Ave, Collaroy NSW 2097, Ph. 9982 9800.
The camp is a wonderful opportunity for the children to consolidate their musical skills and also rehearse for the end of year concert.
You will have recently received an email from the music camp coordinator via the artarmonmusiccamp@gmail.com address. Please take a moment to review the notice emailed to you which covers off important information about the upcoming music camp.
ACTION REQUIRED – Music Camp Registration and Payment
You need to register your child for the Music Camp using the TryBooking website. There are no paper forms and payment is by credit card or debit card only.
Your child must be registered by no later than Monday the 28th of June, as we must notify final numbers to the venue at that time.
To register go to: https://www.trybooking.com/BSAQK.
The cost for the 2021 Music Camp is $220 per student.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help support the coordination of the weekend. If you are able to assist, please note your preference when registering your child via the trybooking platform.
The band students are very excited that the music camp can go ahead this year and we would like to thank our wonderful music teachers, conveners and parent volunteers in advance for the contribution you all make to enriching our children's lives.
Parents we need your help!
We still need a volunteer Festivals Coordinator.
This role will assist with communications and the organisation of permission notes for the upcoming Ryde Eisteddfod at the beginning of August. The Festivals Coordinator will also liaise with Mr Walmsley, the Band Convenor and School as required.
This role can be primarily performed from home with a PC/laptop and internet connection.
If you are interested in helping and/or would like more information, email band@artarmonpandc.org.au
Hire Instrument Repair & Maintenance
If you think your hired instrument needs repairing in any way, the first step is to see your tutor to check over the instrument. In some instances, the instrument may only require a minor adjustment which the tutor can fix for you. After inspecting the instrument, if your tutor confirms that the instrument needs to be repaired, they will provide further instructions for how to arrange an instrument repair and/or replacement.
For other general enquiries regarding instrument hire please contact our Instrument Coordinators by emailing apsbandinstruments@gmail.com
Tutorials:
If you have a question regarding your child’s tutorial, please email or speak to your Tutor in the first instance. Alternatively, email Jane/Rebecca at tutorband@artarmonpandc.org.au
Important note – All Students participating in the Band program are required to take lessons (at school or externally) in their band instrument. If you were going to arrange an external music tutor but now need in-school tuition, please email Jane/Rebecca, our Tutor Coordinators.
Invoices Overdue – Payment Reminder
Confirming Semester 1 invoices have been issued. Please check your email for invoice details. The payment of invoices is now overdue. Prompt payment is appreciated.
If you intend to use a Creative Kids voucher towards the payment of band fees, please ensure you pay $100 less than the total of your Semester 1 invoice.

Strings instruments tuning
With the drop in temperature, this change plays havoc with the instrument being in tune. We have noted a few broken strings which required to be replaced. First point of call, please bring your instrument to the music room at recess as there will always be a strings tutor that will be able to assist and tune the instrument.
