CELEBRATING TERM 1
As we approach the end of another enriching school term, I wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt appreciation to every one of you. Your continuous support, trust, and collaboration have truly made this term a remarkable journey for our entire school community.
We are immensely proud of the incredible achievements our students have made academically, emotionally, and socially throughout these past few months. This success wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering dedication and hard work of our exceptional teaching staff.
Our teachers have poured their hearts and souls into planning meticulously detailed units of work, tailoring their approaches to cater to the unique needs of every child. They've created nurturing learning environments where students can flourish, fostering meaningful relationships that serve as the bedrock for academic and personal growth.
I understand that our students are feeling exhausted and in need of rest to recharge their batteries. As the week draws to a close, I encourage you to dedicate some time as a family to enjoy each other's company and engage in activities that bring joy and relaxation to your lives. It's essential to prioritize self-care and fill your "buckets" with whatever brings you happiness and rejuvenation.
CONGRATULATIONS TITUS!
YEAR 6 AT CANBERRA!
CELEBRATING INCLUSIVITY
Yesterday, we celebrated World Autism Day (April 2nd) and it's a timely reminder of our commitment to inclusivity at our school. In celebrating diversity, we recognise the importance of creating an environment where every child feels valued and supported.
As we continue to embrace the values of diversity and inclusivity at our school, it's important to reflect on the richness that comes from welcoming every student, regardless of their background, abilities, or needs. Our school community thrives on the principle that every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
One of the aspects that make our school truly special is our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all our students. We understand that each child is unique, with their own set of strengths, challenges, and individual requirements. It is with this understanding that we develop a range of support systems and resources to ensure that every student can reach their full potential.
You may have noticed that there are children at our school who have additional needs, whether they require additional learning support, accommodations, or specialised services. It's essential to recognise that these needs vary from student to student and are handled with the utmost confidentiality and sensitivity.
As parents, it's natural to be curious about the support and services available to children. However, it's important to respect the confidentiality of individual students' needs and accommodations. Maintaining privacy for these students and their families is crucial in nurturing a trusting and inclusive school environment.
In celebrating inclusivity at our school, we embrace the diversity that enriches our learning environment and recognise the importance of supporting every student, regardless of their differences. Together, as a united school community, we can continue to foster an environment where every child feels valued, accepted, and empowered to succeed.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to making our school a place where every child can thrive.
LANDSCAPING PLANS
Over the last couple of years, we have been talking about and raising funds to complete the landscaping between the hall and the canteen.
We have finally had some official plans drawn up and shared with the P&C and staff. Over the next term, we hope to finalise these plans and be able to share more exciting news with you all regarding construction and better play and learning spaces for our students and community.

CHESS TOURNAMENT
HARMONY WEEK IN 3SK AND 5BL
Students in 3SK and 5BL made a poster about Harmony Week. We learned it was celebrated from Monday 18th to Sunday 24th March. We also learned that all cultures in Australia celebrate Harmony Week by dressing in traditional clothing or wearing orange.

It was wonderful to see our K-2 students proudly parading their beautiful and innovative Easter hats last Thursday! A big thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to share in the fun, and to our 3-6 buddies who watched and cheered them on. Thank you also to our K-2 families for taking the time to get creative at home, joining in with their child’s education experience and making such fabulous hats. One final thank you to the weather organisers who kept the rain at bay to allow the show to go on!
Thank you !
The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge encourages students to participate in an ongoing reading program, reading a set number of books at their own reading level. It is not a competition, but a challenge to each student - to read, to read more and to read more widely.
The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2024 started on Monday 26 February and concludes Friday 23 August 2024. We would encourage everyone to participate in this worthwhile Challenge.
There is a handy shortcut in your child’s Student Portal that will take them directly to the student site. As this is a NSW Department of Education Program, students use the same username and password to access the website that they use to sign into their Student Portal and the computers at school.
Congratulations to the following students who have completed the NSW PRC!

All students visit the library each week for borrowing. Students are encouraged to borrow up to 4 books every week. Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 have a one week loan period and students in Years 3 to 6 have a three week loan period. We have many fantastic books that are just waiting to be borrowed! Please encourage your child to borrow regularly.
