Another busy term is well underway! This week students have been involved with ceramics, excursions to Vaucluse House and two performances 'Shakespeare' and 'Fairy Tale Fiasco' in our school hall.
Next week we have a whole school incursion with Musica Viva, 'Adventures in Antartica'. These performances are an incredible experience for our students. Please ensure you have paid your invoice so that your child will be able to experience this.
A few changes to be aware of - Mrs Green is on leave until the 17th of June. Mr Jono Coombes and myself are sharing the leadership of the school during this time.
Mrs Kelly Singh and Mrs Emma Blake are also available in the office for any concerns.
The canteen has some new sushi flavours introduced this week. Smoked salmon and avocado sushi rolls, Chicken Schnitzel and cucumber sushi rolls and Teriyaki chicken baby box sushi packs. There will also be a new snack Tiny Teddy Cheesy Crackers.
It would be fantastic to see the school community supporting the P@C fundraising BBQ on election day by either supporting the bakers through purchasing or through volunteering some time to BBQ on the day. Please add to the link https://signup.zone/L6fBdj7CuzQZFPdof to volunteer your time.
Last week Artarmon students had a fabulous time at Artarmon Reserve completing the cross country. Thank you to Mr Nicholas Thompson, Ms Genna Wyllie and Ms Dina Danias for a well organised event.

Cross country report
On Thursday 9th of May students from Year 2 to Year 6 competed in the Cross Country Carnival. All students who competed in the carnival showed great effort, determination and confidence. Students demonstrated team work by cheering on their friends. Well done to all competitors and congratulations to the winners of each age group.
Zone Cross Country will be held in a few weeks time. Those students competing at Zone will receive more information shortly.

Kindy Newsletter Report
Kindergarten is a very busy place, filled with creative thinking and hands on learning experiences.
Students have been developing their problem solving and collaborative skills through robotics. BeeBots have been used to investigate concepts and further engage students. See below how students worked in teams and input algorithms to allow the BeeBot to reach it’s destination!
The Science Incursion was a huge success! On Tuesday 7th May, students attended an interactive science show to learn about forces. They practically participated by pushing, pulling and spinning to achieve an outcome. Students also used a lever to lift a teacher!
Kindergarten celebrated Mother’s Day with cards that were made with love. All students applied their skills to make something their mum would love.

Thank you to those family and friends who came along to the Mother’s Day concert last week. All the groups sounded fantastic and it’s wonderful to witness the development, progression and maturity in playing as the kids get older. Well done.
A special thank you must be made to Mr Manshukhani and those parents who came early and devoted their time to setting up, making the tea and coffee, selling the finger buns, handing out the roses (after meticulously cutting off all the thorns), and then staying behind to clean up. These events can only happen with the help and volunteering of parents.
