BOOK WEEK 2019
We are all looking forward to Book Week on Thursday this week. It is great fun and a way for our families to focus on the importance of reading.
I can't wait to see all the colourful characters.
P&C Meeting Tonight - Kindergarten Building 7pm
All are welcome to attend.
TRAFFIC AROUND THE SCHOOL
It is important for the safety of all in the community that we park or stop in the correct place.
The Parking Rangers are very vigilant in this area and the fines are now quite high.
I have included some reminders of where and when you can park or stop.

WINNING HOUSE: Flynn |
Hi all,
For those of you that haven't heard about the entertainment book or haven't purchased one for a few years here is a bit about it.
It is a book and app that lets you get discounts and purchase vouchers to use at various restaurants, movie cinemas, rental car hire, museums, sports games, accommodation and travel and theme parks, and more the choices are endless where you can use it.
First of all it is a very simple way to help out our school with fundraising without even leaving your computer or phone, you can order online for the book or digital version.
The entertainment App is the way to go, all you have to do is download it to your phone and you can also share it with one other device. You type in what cuisine you want, what location you want, what activity you need and it all comes up. it is simple and easy to use and now it is digital you can use it anywhere, and anytime.
You can also look up on the website if you want to see what is available to use.
It is well worth it and just by using it a couple of times you have already redeemed the purchase price. So please help out the school with fundraising and also give yourselves the choice of where to use it.
The below deal to win prizes is only open until next Sunday 25th of August so be quick to get in the draw.
Yr 3 Fundraising Committee
4CH poetry
As part of our poetry study, 4CH used a poem about a boy being late for school as inspiration for our own poetry. We examined the structure of the poem along with words and phrases used to create imagery for the reader. We also examined the illustrations that went with the original poem and created our own images that helped support the imagery and symbolism in our own poems.
4SA artwork
4SA experimented with the blending of watercolours to create vibrant flowers in the style of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
4NR a work in progress...
A sneak peak at our auction artwork. Students have designed a silhouette to go with their Geography research. We are then converting them to 3D models and printing them out. They will then be placed in the frame on pegs with an ocean background.
Named Clothing Competition
We endeavour to return all lost property to students. However, this is extremely difficult if an item:
· is unnamed
· is named with a first name only
· is named but it is so faint it can’t be read anymore
· has the name of a student who is no longer at the school!
To encourage all students to name their property, we will be holding a competition this term for the first class per grade who can prove that their hats and jackets are clearly named with their first name and last name.
The winning classes will receive a Quelch fruit stick for each student from the canteen.
One grade will be targeted at a time. The competition will begin in Week 5 to give students time to ensure all clothing is labelled correctly.
