Fundraising
The parents and citizens' association (P&C) is involved in raising funds for the school.
Parent voluntary contributions
A key objective for the P&C executive is to focus on the collection of parent voluntary contributions. NSW schools ask parents for a financial contribution to assist the school in providing all the resources we would expect or wish our children to enjoy. The contribution is voluntary. The recommended minimum contribution is:
- $250 for one child
- $300 for two children
- $350 for three or more children.
You can pay more or less than the suggested amount. This amount has been set in agreement with the P&C. Funds raised through parent contributions are vital in helping to fund equipment, classroom resources and educational support that the school needs. We hope you help us supporting the school in this way. Previously these contributions were collected by the P&C but from 2016, school contributions are now paid to the school. Decisions regarding voluntary contributions must be made by the principal after discussion and consultation with staff and the school community. Monies will be put towards student resources and learning. The principal regularly seeks feedback from parents and welcomes your participation in P&C meetings. We would like to thank you for your generous support of the quality teaching and learning program at our school.
Social and fundraising events
The social and fundraising committee, each year, is made up of Year 3 parents. The dual role of this committee is to hold fun social events for the school community and to raise money to purchase equipment and assets for the school. A fundraising target is determined by the committee, in consultation with the school, at the beginning of each school year. For more information please contact fundraising@artarmonpandc.org.au.
Business support programs
The following organisations offer fundraising programs that support the school. These programs are coordinated by the social and fundraising committee:
- Rebel Sport - when you sign up for a Rebel Season Pass and nominate Artarmon School, 5% percent of your transaction goes towards the school as part of the Rebel Support Your Sport program. In 2012 this raised over $500 in redeemable vouchers for the school to purchase sports equipment
- Scholastic Book Club - whenever you purchase from Scholastic Book Club, the school is given points toward buying educational resources. Scholastic Book Club catalogues are periodically sent home with your child. More information about the program can be found here—book club
- Bakers Delight Artarmon - this local business offers seasonal specials and offers to Artarmon Public School parents and the school. Check newsflash and this site regularly for details.
